In the back of my head, given all the disease and dying surrounding us, I too am hoping for a Christmas miracle. But as you say, it takes a lot to overcome the CYA mentality so deeply embedded in outfits like the FDA. If its not personal - its just not happening in a bureaucracy. Innovation in a bureaucracy is imposed - not spontaneous.
