Yep.....southern California is a wonderful place but you will need serious ( CTIX ) $$$$$ in order to enjoy it to the fullest. I moved from Charlotte, NC to Cocoa Beach, Fl and then Manhattan Beach, CA ( LA County ) in the late 60's post Marine Corp....I could not have been more crazy but had some incredible fun times and made life long friends. What was not to love...it was the FREE LOVE ERA, Pot was 10 bucks a oz and you couldn't die from sex, ha-ha. I lived on the beach and worked for Xerox as a salesman and my territory was one square block in Beverly Hills. I had some great accounts and met and partied with lots of celebrities through a PR firm ( Rogers, Cowan and Brenner ) that was one of my big accounts. Moved to Ocean Beach ( SD ) for a year as I did some business down there with a friend. Left in 77 and moved to Vegas for 2 years ( WHOA NELLIE ) and survived by the Grace of God, ha-ha. Moved back to Charlotte and now in Raleigh. My older brother who moved out there with me from Cocoa Beach is still there...he went out there having worked at the Cape as a aerospace engineer and said screw this and got his real estate license in Manhattan Beach and made 200 M in real estate over the last 40 years and still lives out there in PV estates. He's been retired for years as a result of being SMART and I'm still working from WANTING to have FUN and MEMORIES, ha-ha. And boy did I and boy do I have them. I was married in 1979 for 13 years....divorced in 1992... gave ALL my money up in order to get sole custody of my three children who were all very young and while I'm still poor it was the best decision of my life and will forever be my greatest source of PRIDE. I was a single parent with three under 9 and for 13 years had no assistance from anyone. They are all responsible adults and while I never made the BIG money back, I'm wealthy in my second marriage of 10 years this October and in my health and in my friends and my faith. I do have a TITANTIC load of CTIX so hoping for the best like all of his. I'm not sure why I felt compelled to share my life story but I trust the people here and hopefully I offended no one with my past events. It started out as a post to agree with incubus about southern Cal, ha-ha. I guess my beautiful wife is right ....at times I talk too much. Hope all have a great week.
