Just as an FYI to people here, with a class action, unless you are going to opt out of the class and bring your own lawsuit, there is no other way for people to be "more proactive or different way to perfect their claim."
Once the judge has approved (or disapproved) the settlement, then people will be notified that they can opt in or out. To do nothing when given the choice is to automatically opt in. One must proactively opt out if that is what you want to do.
Also, it could takes many months or even a year or so for the judge to determine if the settlement is proper or not. I am currently involved in another class action settlement with the same situation. We agreed on a number back in October and the judge is supposed to review it in April.
