Leronlimab certainly crosses the Blood Brain Barrier BBB, on its own, and does not require that it first be bound to a White Blood Cell. WBC. If that were the case, how would it effect CCR5 blockade within the brain when it is attached to the WBC.

LL passes across the BBB with greater than 75% efficiency and then can bind to the CCR5 on the surface of MicroGlial cells within the brain thereby blocking CCL5 from inducing its memory erasing effects and instead promotes memory.
Maraviroc does not directly bind to CCR5, it binds allosterically which is an indirect means of control. It does not directly block CCL5 as LL does.
