I have noted in earlier posts that Insurance companies have a model/method in place to adjust premiums for clients they deem to have a higher potential for claims. They just raise premiums or drop customers with higher liabilities. DD is just the latest variable for higher liabilities. Important to note that DD is a new & additional variable that could easily increase claims/liabilities.
Do they need DD Apps? They may think they don't. Their model works as proven by their revenue/Profits.
Do they need DD Apps? Yes, if the Apps could be a game changer and have a significant impact on Net Income. Profits?? Market Share?? Customer Service?? Discounts?? SAVE LIVES??
I'm sure the decision is complicated. A lot of variables for a new product and a lot of revenue.
