I disagree on a wall. Maybe my idea of a wall is different. Whatever it takes, 10 feet deep, 50 ft tall, prison style. I feel that would have a large impact because it becomes harder to cross. Of course not 100%, but with a wall there would be less total crossing I feel, more time to get caught crossing, not everyone brings a 30 foot ladder my guess, at least 50% reduction. Yes, it would not work everywhere. Even if it doesn’t work, it would appease one side, for a deal, then I don’t see the issue. The eminent domain is an issue. I’ve not really looked at this issue, so maybe not doable there, especially for towns against it. Same with amnesty, if it appeases one side for a deal, I’m for it. Yes there will be issues there as well as misiu said. Maybe since I was born into citizenship, but to me anyone born here is a US citizen no matter how it happened. I didn’t realize that was in discussion. I view that with a sense of pride and emotion, like the same feeling listening to the National Anthem. I personally would rather have coast to coast border agents, lined hand in hand, then change that.
I agree on work ethic. I have known many personally. My kids through school are friends with many dreamers. These kids were scared after the last election, some were afraid to go to school, afraid of being deported. They don’t remember any other place besides the US. They to me are now Americans. I’m not sure the issue there.
I also agree if we are going after illegal immigration, it should be all. My guess is the vast majority is poor brown, so probably why they focus on that group. You feel the vast majority is not, that is interesting. I would have see the stats. I have lived in places where there is a mix of both in larger cities, but I have lived in places where is was mostly Hispanic, my gut says 10:1 hispanic, but I would have to see the stats.
