Anyone who has a real issue with illegal immigrants should go after the employers. Hell, even Trump was employing them for decades and there’s a town in Mexico where almost everyone worked seasonally at his businesses.
The wealthy employers are exploiting cheap labor and the authorities turn a blind eye to it. Instead of prosecuting the rich who are taking advantage, they punish the little folk who are often here out of desperation to give their family a better life. Living in LA, I know many and they have the BEST work ethic and do jobs that Americans (even American prisoners) won’t do. Look at the southern states who cracked down on immigrants then watched as their crops went rotten.
Crime is also lower among immigrants than citizens. Fact.
As for the wall, it’s a 16th century idea that just doesn’t work. Even the file video footage Fox shows of immigrants scrambling over the fence undercuts their argument bc it’s literally demonstrating that walls don’t work.
So long as people can build tunnels or ladders its a laughable idea. The money needs to be spent better protecting ports of call, or in remote areas using drones or electronic surveillance. A physical wall is the most expensive and ineffective idea anyone could come up with. Misui mentions Berlin. A wall in one city versus thousands of rugged miles is not the same thing.
You know all those “prayer mats” Fox News claims are being found in the desert because terrorists are flooding over the border? Those are just pieces of carpet Mexicans use to get over barbed wire.
Also, you’ll never build the wall unless the govt intents to steal land from private owners. George W Bush greenlit a few sections of wall during his administration. Those legal battles are still being fought in the courts. So even if these eminent domain battles can be won, they’ll take 20-30 years to get through the court system. Kind of ironic that conservatives are advocating the seizure of land from private citizens.
In summary, the wall is a dumb idea, impossible, and completely impractical.

In my neighborhood there are many undocumented English and Irish. Why aren’t folks like Misui/Alicia talking about them? Why is it only the poor brown folk coming to her ER that get demonized?
