I guess it depends if you are a prudent investor or a gambler. If I had, say $300 I am willing to lose, I would go to a casino and play Blackjack, knowing the house has better than 50% chance of taking my money. However, I can reason that I am a good Blackjack player and may also get on a lucky streak and go home with a $1000.
