It all comes down to $$$. They are private and probably don't have the access. U risk losing everything U have worked for if u don't partner up. Ambs is a public comp with unlimited resources to see it thru. Remember what GERALD has stated. They look for companies in distress or technologies they can get inexpensive for a variety of diff reasons.
