funny thing you mentioning your rip tide experience, I had just about the same experience (swimming for my life) without the boogie board. That very day at Sandy, my buddy and I decided that the sand blasting waves were too much so we swam out beyond them to relax.. you know, like in southern Cali.. bad IDEA.. next thing we know, the current was pulling us to the blow holes (towards Hanama Bay).. as well, in our 20s.. and idiots. Very serious swim and man.. to be thrown into the hard sand once again.. well, it seemed like going to heaven, compared to the minutes that had just passed. Mokapu point..? never ventured there.. about 2 miles? up the road.. It
(except for Sea World) was off limits. almost certainly an article 15 if we were caught there<<< exactly because of the rip tide danger. I like tubing down the rivers with a brew these days.
