I Marani Vodka - a "premium" vodka - something that you would expect to see on the shelves in Costco?
Wouldn't its appearance there take away from it's "premium" personality, and therefore result in a much lower retail price?
Look, I want to see sales of Marani skyrocket and the pps move accordingly, but I just don't want to see the brand sell itself short.
I myself would prefer to see it sold in liquor stores...marketted as a premium, hgih quality, sophisticated vodka (demanding a higher price), and promoted by a well known celebrity (what's George Clooney up to these days?).
In 1991 I was part owner of "The Manhattan Brewing Company" on the corner of Thompson and Broome in Soho, NYC, and for a (very) short while we had Debbie Harry ("Blondie") as our spokesperson.
Unfortunately, being located in Soho, the 51% owner was homosexual and decided to turn the brewery into a gathering place for gay men. I knew we were doomed when I went in on Superbowl Sunday and found a group of four guys playing violins - and no TVs and nothing about the Superbowl. I just finished writing that one off not to long ago.
Forgive me for my aside, but the point is............Marani needs a good strong spokesperson to get the pps to the next level..............
