Question...it's been a little time now since the announcement of the 1 distributor in CA. Is that a big enough distributor to sustain them in CA? For all we know, it could be one Costco, one Four Seasons, etc. that they work with (who, by the way, might not want it anyway). Is this distributor really a major player? The fact that they've given us 1 leads me to believe that's all they have right now and I'm nervous about the lack of announcement of more (because that means they're really trying to sell other ones on Marani and it might not be working). Is that good enough? I mean, it's great that they're applying for licensure everywhere, but I would think you'd have distributors lined up and ready to go at the drop of a hat, and from the sound of it, we have one in CA and it might not even be for very much product. Hell, in the end, we might ONLY end up in Hi-Time. Any thoughts on this? Am I just being overly pessimistic, or is this a realistic possibility? I'm not saying all of this is true, but outside of the international contracts, it sounds like we could have Specialty and that's it, and Hi-Time being the only one that took their product. I know there's potential for much more, but it just seems like we would have heard something about it by now if there really was demand, no?
Additionally, there's all this talk of Safeway and Dan Senters' connections. Do we know that he left these places on amicable terms? I don't know how you leave a stable place like Safeway for Marani (they had to throw the kitchen sink at him I'd hope).
Just like anyone, I like making a quick buck, but I just wanted to take a step back and try to make sure that we're prepared for whatever might be behind the curtain.
