I can't say I've ever been in a Costco liquor store, but don't see it as any different from any other liquor store. MOST liquor stores are not "classy" establishments, but most have high end liquor and low end liquor. Sure, there are some very nice liquor stores, but if we're going for that niche market where most people won't see it, then I don't foresee a great future here. I think with Marani, more eyes equals more revenue. $32 is a great price for the ultra-premium market, and you should be able to find that anywhere. The more locations, the better. Besides, if it's in Costco, well, people that shop at Costco will see it. If they want it, they'll buy it. And as a Costco shopper, I don't see why a Costco shopper would turn their nose up at a vodka sold at Costco. I could see it if you were not a Costco member and would consider that to be a lower class establishment, but those people aren't shopping at Costco anyway, so what does it matter? As I said, more eyes, more revenue. Besides, Costco shoppers are suckers for a deal. Say it retails at $36 and price it at $32 and it'll fly off shelves haha.
I'm also not terribly convinced we need a spokesperson. What's another high end liquor with a face to it? It might help a little, but the most famous face associated with alcohol for me is the most interesting man in the world, and I don't have a clue who that is.
A TV commercial, magazine ad, whatever. Anything will help. But to me the biggest concern is how many places is this going to be in. We need to be in as many locations as possible.
