As an outside B2B salesperson I worked from home for most of my career. The pressures to make sales quota are generally sufficient to drive effort. Not always, and not for everybody.

But the same could be said for office workers who vary in commitment and performance.

Good base salaries, company cars and expense reports generally are offered to people who've demonstrated ability to work independently.

So 'natural selection' in in play for those kinds of jobs. After all they need to be or need to be taught to be, 'hunters'. LOL!
