Correction on your post. They have carried "Investment Holdings" since the May 2015 filings and was on the Annual Report published in Oct 2015.

So obviously NTEK changed its plans a few weeks ago
because before Q3 that $2.8M was never on the
balance sheet before.

Notice the NTEK > 150M shares of NTGL they hold
X .0186 = the $2.8M on NTEK balance sheet which
is almost identical to where NTGL is trading.
