TXU Energy and Texas Trees Foundation Partner to Enhance Greenspaces
TXU Energy Partners with Texas Trees Foundation for Tree Planting
Celebrating 20 years of creating greener, healthier communities
TXU Energy and the Texas Trees Foundation (TTF) have teamed up to launch a statewide tree-planting campaign. This initiative commemorates two decades of joint efforts in enhancing the environment through the TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm and Education Center. Volunteers aim to plant 400 trees this month, all generously donated by TXU Energy, across ten communities.
Brad Watson, TXU Energy's senior director of community affairs, emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, "For 20 years, TXU Energy has worked hand in hand with Texas Trees Foundation to plant and nurture thousands of trees across the state. We are proud to support the tree farm, a vital space that acts as a living classroom and a launchpad for projects that enhance our urban tree canopy, purify our air, and create long-term benefits in the communities we serve."
Since 2004, TXU Energy has sponsored the Texas Trees Foundation’s TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm and Education Center, which ranks among the largest urban tree farms nationwide. This farm, situated on the Dallas College – Richland Campus, functions as TTF's primary tree nursery, educational hub, and the operational base for planting activities throughout northern regions of Texas.
Janette Monear, president and CEO of Texas Trees Foundation, expressed appreciation for the partnership, stating, "We are thankful to TXU Energy for their longstanding commitment to improving quality of life in Texas. The 400 new trees planted through this initiative will enhance our communities and their residents for many years ahead."
