Rupert Resources Advances Ikkari Project with Key Updates
Rupert Resources Shares Update on the Ikkari Project
Rupert Resources Ltd. (TSX: RUP) has recently provided an important update regarding its flagship Ikkari Project, alongside the ongoing exploration efforts as the winter drilling season approaches in Central Lapland.
Leadership Insights from Graham Crew
Graham Crew, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Rupert Resources, expressed his enthusiasm about the company’s prospects. He stated, “After two months in this role, I am more excited than ever about the opportunities at Ikkari and across our 100% owned land package. We are in the final stages of completing the Prefeasibility Study (PFS) for Ikkari, which we plan to publish in the early part of 2025.” Crew also indicated that preparations for the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) will begin shortly after the PFS. He highlighted the upcoming winter drilling season in early 2025, during which the company aims to focus on Heinä South and assess targets identified through a recent geophysical survey.
2024 Key Developments
As Rupert Resources continues building momentum going into 2024, here are some highlights:
- The discovery of a new zone with high-grade potential located just 1km from Ikkari at Heinä South.
- Positive results from metallurgical testing confirm that the project has a simplified flowsheet and recovery rates exceeding 95%.
- Advancements in engineering efforts for the PFS and the subsequent DFS are ongoing.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As 2025 approaches, several catalysts for Rupert Resources are positioned to create significant developments:
- Commencement of drilling on Ikkari satellites is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
- The PFS for Ikkari is set to be published in the first quarter of 2025, providing valuable insights into the project's viability.
- The submission of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Ikkari is anticipated in the second half of 2025.
Ikkari Project Status and Future Plans
The company is currently finalizing its PFS for Ikkari, with critical aspects such as mine, mill, and waste facility design already completed and awaiting final review. The PFS is set for publication in Q1 2025, with work on the DFS slated to begin shortly thereafter. The EIA Report is also on track for submission in the latter half of 2025, as progress on the EIA program made during 2024 has been substantial.
Exploration Initiatives in 2024
Over the past several months, the exploration team has been busy advancing key targets along the regional structure situated east of Ikkari, commonly referred to as “The Rajala Line.” Initial scout drilling has verified the presence of intercalated ultramafic and sedimentary units extending up to 15km to the east of the Ikkari deposit. Throughout the autumn, a wide-spaced Induced Polarization (IP) survey was executed to detect areas below the surface that mirror the structural setup of Ikkari. Impressively, the survey has highlighted several locations along strike that exhibit similar large-scale structural characteristics.
As these areas are covered by glacial till, they do not showcase a Base of Till (BoT) anomaly typically seen for other discoveries in Area 1. Exploration activities are planned to prioritize follow-up drilling on these promising settings in 2025. Additionally, early 2025 will see a return to Heinä South, where previous drilling revealed impressive intercepts of 25m at 16.5g/t Au and 24.4m at 10.5g/t Au during earlier campaigns.
