NEW YORK, Sept. 13, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NDAQ ), today announced today the results of the annual re-ranking of the PHLX Semiconductor Sector Index (Nasdaq: SOX ), which will become effective prior to market open on Monday, September 23, 2013.
The following ten securities will be added to the Index: Analog Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADI ), ASML Holding N.V. (Nasdaq: ASML ), Atmel Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML ), Freescale Semiconductor, Ltd. (NYSE: FSL ), LSI Corporation (Nasdaq: LSI ), Microchip Technology Incorporated (Nasdaq: MCHP ), Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: MXIM ), ON Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: ONNN ), QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM ) and Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: SWKS ).
The PHLX Semiconductor Sector Index is designed to track the performance of a set of companies engaged in the design, distribution, manufacture, and sale of semiconductors. As a result of the re-ranking, the following ten securities will be removed from the index: Cirrus Logic, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRUS ), Hittite Microwave Corporation (Nasdaq: HITT ), InterDigital, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDCC ), MKS Instruments, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKSI ), Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (Nasdaq: MLNX ), Power Integrations, Inc. (Nasdaq: POWI ), Rubicon Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: RBCN ), STMicroelectronics N.V. (NYSE: STM ), SunEdison, Inc. (NYSE: SUNE ) and Veeco Instruments Inc. (Nasdaq: VECO ).
