What’s Affecting Gold Stocks Today?: Goldcorp (GG), NovaGold, BVN, Kinross Gold (KGC), Agnico Eagle, Yamana Gold (AUY), AngloGold Ashanti, Allied Nevada Gold (ANV)

Gold stocks were trading mostly down on profit taking and as gold fell on Friday. But, bullion was on track for a third weekly rally, as caution over the U.S. Federal Reserve’s message at next week’s monetary policy meeting pushed the dollar down. The greenback was down broadly against a basket of major currencies, keeping a floor under bullion, after a Wall Street Journal report provided signs that the central bank will not be raising rates any time soon.

Gold stock ended mixed on Thursday after the precious metals benefited from a slightly lower U.S. dollar index.

By the end of the last trading day, Compania de Minas Buenaventura SA (ADR) (NYSE:BVN) dropped -0.95% to $14.59. The stock moved down -58.91% in this year and its price history showed that most recently beta was at 0.69.

By the end of the last trading day, Goldcorp Inc. (USA) (NYSE:GG) dropped -0.78% to $28.14. The stock moved down -22.44% in this year and its price history showed that most recently beta was at 0.70.
