At first I thought "IH" was Investors Hub. Perhaps you should spell it out. Anyway, some comments on your guidelines:
1. "open and honest discussion regarding companies IH members have either invested in, or are considering". While this statement is slanted towards a basically a "bulls" board, you do allow for someone to make negative comments. In fact, it could be an ongoing discussion in an attempt to win peopel over to a point of view or decision. Hence repeated posting of negative information or debate with bulls. That is all bashing is. Posting of information that is a response to nothing (positive or negative) is spam.
So do you allow negative posting or not? In the context of a discussion, of course. Pretty hard to sit on the fence on this one.
2. The term "DD" is bandied about. Usually it means simply copying information from somewhere that has no credibility, like Facebook. Completely useless. Personal experience and authenticity is much more useful.
3. THis "No one needs to defend themselves against .. opinion". Are you serious? What else is there but opinion. ONe of the repeated postings of the Big Guy is that professional people cost on average $100/hour, to be taken into account in the costing of a barrel of oil. There is no way that can be proven, without divulging sensitive information. So it is opinion, yet valuable information.
One last thing... the stated purpose of Investors Hub is the posting of information or messages about stocks. It can be positive or negative. I have this from the Admins. The fact that most boards are positive and have great art work, etc, is just the way the site is used. It is a platform to sell stock... but that is not the stated purpose, and the purpose for which members pay their dues... There just happen to be more positive posters... go figure.
