Twitter Msg3: @GoldCoastMining: To research mine: the Azurite Mine is also known as The Lower Davis Dunkirk Mine, 14 miles south of Prescott, Arizona within Yavapai County
Davis Dunkirk Mine
Located off Golden Eagle Road - US Forest Service Road 667 - Due South of Goldwater Lake
Elevation of 7,169 feet
United States, Arizona, Yavapai County, Bradshaw Mountains, Hassayampa District, Slate Creek, Davis-Dunkirk Mine
The Davis-Dunkirk Mine is about half the size of the Senator Mine with the main tunnel running about 2 miles deep , and a couple of side-tunnels. The mine is in SPECTACULAR condition. Dust on the floor and left-behind equipment... It's as if all the miners simply walked out of the mine leaving everything behind and never returning. This is a dry mine so there is no rot. Everything is preserved very well. Unfortunately, this mine is very hard to access and is located deep in the Bradshaw Mountains . A trip to this mine would surely mean an all-day trip, but very worth it.
