A professor friend of mine once did some calculations to estimate the amount of heat the earth absorbs every day from the sun. His numbers said that, although we do cause some heat, it is relatively small with respect to what Mother Nature does. WE can spend Billions/Trillions to fix the problem, but is is not going to make any significant change in climate.
Remember, we had an ice age once, long before the internal combustian engine. If the ice age is gone, we have had a global warming "problem" for a long, long time.
