Tilda Swinton Stars In Timothy Everest Menswear Fashion Film; See Spring 2014 Horiyoshi III Collection!
Tilda Swinton will be appearing in a fashion film for a fellow Scotsman. The actress, known for her edgy and unique personal style, will star in the fashion film for bespoke tailor Timothy Everest's Spring 2014 offering. The short film, featuring Tilda Swinton, will promote the designer's capsule collection for the season. The project "draws on the parallels of the craftsmanship of bespoke tailoring and tattooing."
Timothy Everest teamed up for the Spring 2014 capsule collection with iconic Japanese tattoo artist Horiyoshi III. The fashion film is directed by Johnnie Shand Kydd and shows Tilda model a look from the collection while re-enacting the bespoke experience that Timothy Everest will go provide for his clients during a fitting. Swinton wears a deconstructed ivory Moon Bat-print wool trouser suit.
The fashion film shoot took place at Tilda Swinton's home in Scotland. She thought it was the perfect location for the Timothy Everest x Horiyoshi III video shoot. "Much better than going down to a London studio," she told Style.com . "We just invite people in, and the brave ones come."
Timothy Everest posted behind-the-scenes photos from their presentation at London Collections: Men on their online blog. We see Tilda Swinton's bespoke basted jacket, and window treatments made of silk scarves featuring the art of Horiyoshi III. The presentation's most impressive installation was a live tattoo performance by Horiyoshi III's apprentice Alex Horikitsune Reinke, who used Mr. Daisuke Sakaguchi as a blank canvas for the event's audience.
A mini tailor's workship was set up in one of the rooms at the presentation, where Timothy Everest tailors were showing their craft. Guests were able to experience first-hand the cutting-and-stitching arts that went into the key garments being modelled at the event.
Timothy Everest and Horiyoshi III stand-out looks included including a towncoat embellished with a cloud of degrade Moon Bats and a reversible bomber jacket entwined with a serpent pattern and featuring contrast sleeves. Jackets, shirts, ties and scarves adorned with Horiyoshi prints and patterns comprise the Spring 2014 capsule collection.
MAC makeup artists adorned bodies of models with the Moon Bat print, while guests sipped on Herbert Hall and Timothy Taylor. Timothy Everest worked with Morgan Motor Company to manufacture a custom-made Roadster emblazed with the Moon Bat print. Event attendees included Tracey Emin, Johnnie Shand Kydd (director of the Tilda Swinton film,) Mary McCartney, Princess Julia, Mark Francis, Freido, Jefferson Hack, Stella McCartney, Pam Hogg, and more of London's most fashionable.
