Met up with grayhound this morning at the IDEAS Conference. We were fortunate enough to speak with Dr. Menon, Dr. Holden, and Dr. Kumar for 15 or 20 minutes after the presentation.
I am very impressed by these individuals. They appeared to be confident and energetic. Dr. Holden is now a full time CTIX employee. Dr. Kumar is a full time Kard Scientific employee along with 80-90 others.
Dr. Menon is aware of the Breakthough Therapy Designation given to ScioDerm after a Proof of Concept trial (see post 30099). He said this is our plan for Prurisol should things work out.
Ctix has a new anti-cancer drug that has shown "remarkable early results".
Kevetrin is one of about 30 anti-cancer compounds that CTIX has tested. Dr. Menon said it's still too early to tell whether Kevetrin will work best alone or in conjunction with other drugs. He said that Kevetrin started out as a drug to be used along with radiation. Then, thanks in large part to Dr. Kumar, evolved into what it is today. The doctors stressed how revolutionary Kevetrin is, in that it restores the body's ability to fight cancer.
They are eagerly awaiting the p21 data release and hope it will happen soon. We couldn't get much more than that, except, Dr. Holden said the scientific community likes to do things in 3's. I interpreted that to mean data from 3 cohorts.
Today was a great experience!
