Quote:might partner and fund a trial with their ICI to prove that they work together
great post by houseofcards earlier, refuting my binary outlook regarding potential interest from BP. i'll have to agree with his assessment. that would be a great way for a BP to get that ICI combo trial run the way they want it to be run, and to get a foot in the door via first refusal should the trial produce favorable results. lol, i'm still not expecting this at all, but it is a logical possibility and i'd be more than happy to be dead wrong in saying that i don't think it will happen. it certainly seems to "fit" or whatever.
merck would be interesting in such a scenario as they have been down the road before in mss with both maraviroc and vicriviroc (another old poorly designed ccr5 inhibitor). i was reading about those years ago. despite those lesser inhibitors with much lower RO flopping, maraviroc still managed to prime the patients for unexpectedly improved outcomes from salvage therapies following the keytruda combo trial. while maraviroc's molecular design wasn't strong enough to induce meaningful tumor shrinkage, it nonetheless seemed to have a priming effect. go figure.
