its evident more testing will be done to help determine the area or field of a possible reservoir by either
1)lateral drilling from the mj1 well or hopefully at some depth but the many difficulties they faced w the mj1 well means its not straight up and down, so that may limit or inform their options of where the lateral takeoff will be.
2) by using coiled tubing- the podcast suggests thats probably too expensive.
recent tech of the last couple decades has made lateral or horizontal drilling very common as noted in posts long ago.
As is normal in Zions experience the material and expertise to do these things are not available in Israel and will have to be sourced from around the world.
That sourcing hopefully begins by end of July
They note Noble took 10 years from a discovery to exploitation because the complexity and time factors of offshore exploration are much more complex and time consuming.
they are not comparing themselves w Noble but just tempering the common mindset partly influenced from such tv shows etc as Jethro and the Beverly Hills where the song says ,and up came bubbling crude. They note that doesnt happen nowadays-especially in Israel.
