I'm so behind. From the article you linked, I lear

That paragraph is a quote from the Duke med school's Senior Vice-Dean for Research. Is there an actual non-Vice research Dean, and are there other non-Senior vice-deans? How many mouths need to be fed?
Some enlightenment: I listened to a shareholder update call about another speculation play (privately held) I've owned for more than 10 years. Star management team and multiple shots on goal haha, but time drags on, doesn't it? During the Q and A, a panicked investor gnashed his teeth about NIH funding for that company's trials. The CFO strongly felt strongly that the approved funds would be paid, and provided some color that NIH funding for support staff might be more at risk, particularly in academia. Maybe some fat can be trimmed. Maybe fewer Senior Vice-Deans?
More enlightenment: As the CFO talked about his heavy-duty efforts to secure non-dilutive funding, he said, remember, most companies get taken out (acquired) long before a Phase 3 trial is finished.
Separate from J Sacha's exciting work (also Scott Hansen), I'm cheering for CYDY success coming from the non-gov side. At this point, our share price increase can occur without NIH support imo.
I think there'll be plenty of CYDY exit opportunities coming (not an original thought, just my RCA (root cause analysis (if you're further behind than me))), no matter what your cost basis is now. For newcomers, The highest possible cost basis is $10.01 ( about 20 minutes intraday, May of 2020) and the lowest possible is 10 cents (recent). Should you and your investment decision maker buy at 30 cents, or whatever next week's price is? You should! On the way up, don't sell every share. Always keep some (I remember that as Black-Ops, but maybe that is common wisdom. Mega-investment success is not in my wheelhouse, but I tell ya, Someday ...)
