What do you think it is Pharaoh? I think it could be a bunch of wash trades, shareholders exiting at 2, flippers that bought in at 2 during a PR and now are no longer patient. It really is difficult to tell where all the 2's are coming from. Market Makers job is to create liquidity and volume. Often times the small trades that go through are automatic to induce liquidity in the market for that stock (i.e. get folks to buy or sell as the brokers just want to see a bunch of trades to gather the commissions). Stagnant stocks don't make brokers money (the automatic trades happen both ways to either induce buying and/or selling). I don't think this is particularly weird in a stock like BCAP. The news has not generated buying since they have all been updates. Who knows who the float is locked up by, take the number stated (floats locked up by longs) with a grain of salt. It is hard to judge the accuracy of those counts as well as determining if they are true as shareholders may not disclose their exact amount. Additionally, the acquisition of a brokerage, has been and will be the critical piece of Baron Capital for now. If this news is released and doesn't get the stock moving then all should be suspicion. The stock markets move based on speculation (which happened last year with TOFS), but the SS changes caused a large decline and investors weren't particularly confident in the future of the business model. The TA software allowed a brief run in BCAP earlier this year, but it will take the brokerage firm to solidify this company as legitimate at which time I would expect the markets to react positively.
Remember, we are still a pinksheet. The regulations are fairly minimal with the OTC markets (i.e. pay a fee, submit an attorney letter, submit unaudited financials) so anything can happen. If the company says something, it is never a guarantee unless they produce a filing (and even the filing doesn't need to happen since the stock is still a pinksheet and the regulations are minimal).
We shall see how things play out over the next few weeks and months.
