Sister Shelle is back underway today, Thursday July 25th, after 17 days in Kodiak . The Shelle arrived Kodiak on July 8th and has been there with a couple of local
moves but as of today, July 25th, it appears to be back underway for Nome.
The four panel graphic goes from left to right chronologically and those times confuse more than enlighten - they show the time of the last satellite fix on the boat and you can't tell the time of that fix from the image. The most recent was on the far right was around 2100 Zulu Jul 25th. Calll that 4 pm Thursday Central Time. The crew was just departing Kodiak waters and will be headed southwest along the Aleutian Chain to the first passage leading north to the Bering Sea.

Nome is still a long way off at 8 knots. The seaways calculator shows 1300 nm and about 7 days at sea if no further stops . They willl prbly need to fuel and provision before the long overwater leg after the passage thru the Aleutians. Earliest arrival Aug 1st if they make 8 knots for 7 days. Add a stop and arrival is more likely Aug 2nd or 3rd.
No idea if the long Kodiak stay was planned or needed for repair or adding equipment for the dredging. Won't speculate.
A look today at Santa Elena shows same as it has for months -no work - nothing doing that shows up on satellite imagery and I take that to mean nothing at all is is happening in Mexico. All interest and effort appears to be on a black catamaran headed for Nome.
