DePINs Easing Web3 Game Development The nascent
Post# of 119
The nascent Web3 game development segment is poised to benefit from the incorporation of decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs). These networks would act as the underlying framework for decentralized applications (DApps), such as Web3 games, and allow both developers and end users to enjoy a smoother end experience.
Building Web3 games on DePINs could allow for the creation of a new layer-2 blockchain that combines video rendering with artificial intelligence (AI) data processing to ease developers into Web3 gaming. Decentralized physical infrastructure network provider (DePINs) and decentralized processing network GAIMIN recently partnered with Movement Labs and BNB Chain to launch an L2 blockchain that will incorporate Web3 technology into gaming.
Blockchain, the underlying technology powering cryptocurrencies, has attracted plenty of attention due to the unprecedented safety, privacy and control over data it offers. It is also the framework for Web3, the next iteration of the internet, which uses blockchain technology to grant web users complete control over their data.
Web3 gaming has become increasingly popular over the past couple of years until it now dominates blockchain activity across the globe. However, scalability issues result in high latency coupled with slow transactions that often prevent traditional game developers from approaching the nascent Web3 segment. Limited or no interoperability between gaming platforms and games as well as insufficient software development kits (SDKs) regularly cause development and operational expenses to surge.
As a result, gaming developers are typically wary of Web3 game development. Highly tailored layer-2 solutions have the potential to solve these issues by lowering entry barriers for traditional game developers that are interested in migrating their projects to the blockchain. The L2 gaming blockchain would eliminate the need for high-performance hardware to process blockchain transactions and reward users who connect their devices to the network.
In a statement released on social media platform X, GAIMIN said it had partnered with Movement Lab and BNB Chain to create the world’s “fastest gaming blockchain.” To offer frictionless layer 2 blockchain functionality, the DePINs provider is working with BNB Chain’s L2 option, opBNB.
Technology from Movement Labs, a worldwide modular blockchain network, also allows the L2 blockchain from GAIMIN to lower L2 confirmation latency significantly, cut gas fees via batching and compressing data, and process more than 150,000 transactions per second. Thanks to these strategic partnerships, GAIMIN has created an L2 network with low latency, high speed and a suite of scalable Web3 services for developers interested in building games on the blockchain.
Web3 isn’t only finding use cases in gaming. E-commerce businesses such as NextPlat Corp. (NASDAQ: NXPL) (NASDAQ: NXPLW) are leveraging this technology to help clients reach a bigger target consumer base while enhancing data security, personalization and enabling data-driven decision making.
