This cascade of events leading to neural cell fusion with other neurons or glial cells is kicked off with viral epitope binding to the ace2 receptor, which implies if Leronlimab is leveraged to tip the balance in this process would have to be given very early. It is a different dynamic than treating cytokine release say in the “critical” phase of covid19. I scanned the science article for any hint of potential reversal but did not see it. As the author suggests in the discussion this transcends covid19 and may well involve other viruses and other neurodegenerative diseases…not a pretty picture. This is elegant research and I credit the authors for pulling back the curtain on something which hasn’t been seen before.
