I have never shot a goose*, but duck hunting was always one of my favorite things to do. For me, being in Sparkleberry Swamp or some other massive bog in 15-degree weather was a little bit of heaven. I managed to use quite a few different guns back during my hunting days, the Remmington 1100 for one, but I just simply fell in love with the 870. I think because with a pump a shooter is a wee bit more physically involved than with the semi and that adds to the enjoyment for me.
The last time I shot a 10 gauge was about 50 years back.
* I buy a 50-pound sack of corn each week and feed geese that have taken up residence at a nearby pond. As soon as they see me drive up, all of them come running and flying to me. A few of the braver geese will eat from my hand.
