The following message is really just me writing some of my ponderings of the current situation in the Middle East, the world, and Scriptural prophecy. It has nearly nothing to do with Zion Oil investing. So if the reader wants to find out the mind of a Zion Oil investor please go to the next message as you will find this very boring and possibly quite irritating.
For decades I have wondered what would entice Gog/Magog to invade Israel (e.g. Eze 37). Of course the question quickly arises as to who exactly is representing Gog/Magog in today's world. Most observers agree that Iran would be part of the coalition, but also possibly/probably Turkey, Russia, Germany, several countries in the old Soviet Union, and etc. The picture painted in my mind by the revelation of Scripture is somewhat surprising to me. It is not the heart of Islam that comes against Israel, with the exception of Iran and Turkey, with religious fervor. Most of the countries identified by scholars and commentators have some form of Christianity as their main belief system. Now the picture painted by Scripture is that of Gog/Magog putting all of their military might to erase Israel. Since most of the countries being identified as Gog/Magog have no particular interest in driving Israel into the sea to fulfill their devotion to their God, then I reason that there must be something of tremendous value in Israel. This means that the enticement to war against Israel results in much greater value than the extreme cost of the war itself. To wit, any overwhelming force sent against Israel would be very costly. Israel has a very capable conventional military and is well known to be a nuclear power. They are the military equivalent of a wolverine. Small by extraordinarily capable.
So let's just imagine that Russia & Germany are indeed part of Gog/Magog and is represented as part of the invaders depicted in Ez 37. (BTW Germany is starting to remilitarize due to the Ukraine/Russia war). What exactly do they gain by wiping out Israel? If the Jews are successfully removed from the land what exactly would be the spoils to the victor. A land devolving back to the wasteland of Palestine prior to World War II? Palestinians would be some of the poorest and most squalid people on earth. They are already a pariah to their Arab brothers. Doesn't seem like much of a treasure!
Maybe they simply want the undying adulation of the Middle Eastern oil-producing countries, but can't they get that without the expense of burying Israel?
Now before our eyes in just the last years we find the current superpower, the USA, committing national suicide through the election of evil and incompetent leadership. Our motto seems to be to follow the doctrines of demons to the uttermost while despising the God who blessed us more than any nation in history. Blessed with unsurpassed natural resources, the USA is begging other countries for oil that it could produce itself, but won't because of its own self loathing and hell-bent self-immolation! During this same time a massive natural gas reservoir has been found just off of Israel's shores.
What if, a massive divinely-ordained oil reservoir is found in Israel? Ah! Now there is a treasure to be confiscated by the descendant of Gog/Magog. That is, oil and gas! Gog/Magog see an avenue to capture power and prestige being vacated by the declining USA. The world, now in chaos, will be become much more chaotic and antagonistic.
All of this, is strictly my ponderings and speculations. Any who disagree may do so freely.
So what am I saying? That I hope that Zion does not successfully find the oil that John Brown feels the Lord has led him to find, so to keep the world from increasing chaos? Not at all! I hope Zion finds oil far in excess of anything I can reasonably imagine or even pray for. Personally it would be fun and very rewarding to reap some of the benefits of such a find. I find it very commendable that John Brown has chosen to live his life in the service of what he believes is the direction of the Lord. I am very happy to partner with him.
As a final thought it is my very fervent prayer that the Lord grants the USA a revival of such intensity that it dwarfs any revival since the Ascension. Thus cleansing the USA, pulling us back from desolation, and leading us to a position when He can again shine upon us without holding His nose. How does the revival of the USA connect with Zion Oil? I have no idea! But if it does happen then we again would truly partner with Israel. I like it!
