I personally only have 2 entities to blame.
#1 The Criminal Hedge Fund Short Selling Cabal.
IMO this NSS attack has been in place for 7 years or so. Leo’s biggest fault was not recognizing this sooner and raising cash while SP was over $2 per share. IMO if the hedge funds had not illegally targeted IPIX, Leo would have been able to raise sufficient cash without significant dilution. If capital had not been so extremely expensive due to artificial and illegal SP compression, Brilacidin would have been an approved drug long before the world had ever heard of Covid. The only glimmer of good news is that the criminals continue to have massive NSS exposure. If they had covered their naked position on IPIX, the paid multi identities would be long gone. Their plan is to never have to cover their position by putting their targeted companies out of business. To force a NSS cover, Leo would need to execute significant milestones (major license agreement, merge or buyout). IPIX investors that have hung on to some or all of their position can only hope Leo can put some type of deal together. The verbiage in the recent 10-Q indicates that IPIX science will not advance until some type of structured deal is in place. Until that time IMO Leo will continue to minimize expenses.
#2 Myself.
No one put a gun to my head to buy IPIX shares. I did my own due diligence and weighed what I felt were the risks vs the rewards and incorrectly determined that IPIX was a potentially lucrative investment. Up to this point in time I have been wrong in my assessment. Time will tell if IPIX will become a profitable investment but all prior guestimations of potential SP went out the window with the failed trial. Every SP guestimation was based on the assumption that Brilacidin would become a dominant treatment for CV19 which is highly unlikely at this point in time. That assumption has not come to fruition.
There are IPIX investors that I personally know who have completely sold their entire position and moved on, many of who have sold 20% to 50% of their position. There are also a few investors that continue to add to their positions in this 3 cent range to lower their average cost. IMO any investor who intended to sell some or all of their IPIX shares has already done so.
So what now? Those of us who have held a significant percentage of our IPIX holdings can only wait while IPIX appears to be in a holding pattern. Either Leo is successful in putting together some type of deal or structure whereas shareholders could still potentially make a profit or if not IPIX SP will continue to drift lower. I still believe in the science and I am hopeful that Leo can pull something off. As we wait do not forget who is responsible for the position IPIX is in.
