David Meltzer may be getting the accolades today, and perhaps deservingly so. But let’s take a few steps back, back to December 2019, when Nancy Heinen joined the Verb BOD. Nancy Heinen, former Exec Sr VP of Apple and believed to be former right hand person to Steve Jobs. See press release below.

If on paper we can connect the dots where David Meltzer signing a content deal with Apple equates to Verb providing content and technology to Apple TV, which I believe is a pretty good bet, I submit it was not only David Meltzer who sealed the deal, but Nancy Heinen and her involvement with Verb. I believe this is a big part of why Verb wanted her on their side and that the prep of which started back in 2019 the moment they inked her deal.
We will probably never know. But my version of the happenings is that Verb wanted Nancy’s help to get into Apple. Nancy said I am not bringing you to Apple until you have a product Apple would want and we need a front man with clout. Along comes VerbTV and along comes David Meltzer….and voila.
Obviously not that simple. But my point is that if Verb does get its and content and tech to Apple, that the planing of which has been being crafted since 2019 and Nancy Heineken has major involvement, most likely even making the introduction for David, and is the true puppet master behind it all.
