Look at it this way. If someone coughs and leaves a bunch of droplets floating in the air (we KNOW that they can float for 15-60 minutes, depending on the ventilation) -- do you think that the person who inhales someone else's mucus droplets that have the flu or COVID virus in them is just as likely to get sick as the person who is wearing a mask and doesn't inhale them?
Why was the flu season so incredibly mild as to be almost nonexistent last year?
Because people wore masks in public places.
THIS year's flu season is going to be a lot worse because of all the people who think that it is a fine idea to inhale someone else's mucus.
I do not agree, and I certainly do not plan on being in a public place without a mask. I prefer that my lungs make their own mucus, if they so desire.
