One of the 3 is a close family member of yours.
Do you feel the same about there that persons freedom of choice?
This is going to make me sound extremely selfish, but yes, I believe I would feel the same. Of course I would be saddened and upset, but these risks are a part of life.
I cannot stop someone from giving my family member or loved one a debilitating disease (Aids, Covid, Small Pox, Polio etc), nor can they be 100% protected from a maniac on the road, or a perpetrator on the streets. It is just not possible. What we can do is lower the risks ourselves, either through voluntarily vaccination, paying close attention while driving, conceal carrying, etc.
The argument thus far has been "we should remove the rights of the many to protect the few". Far too often people forget to ask, "but what of the many?" I just cannot agree with telling a large population of people what to do, when they have the ability to make the decisions for themselves.
Per the CDC, the majority of the population has a 99%+ chance of survival from Covid, with that rate dropping to 96% for ages 55+. Prioritize vaccines for the elderly, immuno-deficient and those who are more susceptible. If you are not in a risk category, talk to your doctor and see if the Vaccine is right for you. If you have the vaccine, and you continue to choose to wear a mask, then in my opinion you should have close to zero concerns. If you are still worried that Covid is a risk to you after these two factors, then perhaps we should re-valuate the efficacy of these vaccines.
