Orvana's Strategic Geophysical Survey to Unlock Taguas Potential

Orvana's Strategic Geophysical Survey to Unlock Taguas Potential

Orvana Commences Geophysical Survey at Taguas Project

Orvana Minerals Corp. (TSX: ORV), is excited to announce that its subsidiary has kicked off a vital geophysical survey at the Taguas Project. Nestled in the Andean region, this project comprises fourteen mining concessions spanning around 3,274 hectares. The area is part of a prominent mineral belt renowned for its high-sulfidation epithermal deposits of gold, silver, and copper.

Reevaluating the Taguas Project's Potential

The initiative aims to broaden the exploration scope at Taguas beyond the previously identified oxidized gold-silver resources. Orvana is determined to delve into the underlying sulfide mineralization and explore the depth potential of a copper-gold system.

CEO Juan Gavidia stated, "This exploration campaign is a significant step towards understanding the Taguas mineral system. By integrating the findings from our new geophysical survey with insights from past explorations, we will effectively identify key drilling targets. Our first drilling campaign is scheduled for later this coming year, marking a strategic advancement in our path to uncovering the full potential of this site."

The Exploration Program Structure

The exploration program for the years ahead at the Taguas Project consists of three essential phases:

Phase 1: Geological Modeling Update

This phase focuses on the detailed relogging of historical drill holes combined with short-wave infrared alteration studies. Enhancements such as spectral scanning every five meters in select areas have been successful in identifying promising pathways toward porphyry-style mineralization.

Phase 2: Geophysical Survey

This ongoing phase prioritizes identifying possible targets up to depths of 1,500 meters. The comprehensive survey spans 4 square kilometers, utilizing a grid system to ensure detailed coverage.

Phase 3: Deep Drilling Operations

The upcoming deep drilling program will commence once the initial geophysical results are in, targeting areas that demonstrate indicators of the older copper-gold systems. The plan includes drilling approximately 4,500 meters, although this may adjust based on the survey outcomes.

Advanced Survey Techniques

The geophysical survey is entrusted to Ridgeback Geofísica Argentina S.A., known for their expertise in high-resolution geological analysis. They will implement Magnetotelluric (MT) and Induced Polarization (IP) methods to acquire critical data about the site's subsurface structures. These methodologies will yield models of underground resistivity and chargeability, essential for the planning of deep drilling efforts.

Ridgeback and its affiliate Southernrock Geophysics bring significant experience from various Andean projects. Their insights have previously enhanced the geological understanding of mineral deposits, which will be invaluable in the Taguas exploration strategy.

Strategic Alignment with Orvana's Goals

The Taguas exploration strategy aligns with Orvana's mission of fostering long-term value through meticulous exploration and effective capital management. By refining their geological models and focusing on priority targets, Orvana is positioning itself for sustainable growth. The insights gained will significantly influence future project decisions, potentially leading to resource expansions.

About Orvana Minerals Corp.

Orvana is a dynamic multi-mine operation, primarily engaged in gold, copper, and silver production. The company operates the Orovalle facility in Spain, in addition to the Don Mario site in Bolivia, which is currently expanding. The Taguas Project reinforces Orvana's strategic portfolio in precious metals mining.
