I am just speculating here -- but what are the odds that someone has managed to get some kind of preliminary data, for instance if they have spies in Russia (what a surprise THAT would be, in Russia) who are checking on whether people in the clinical trial seem to be recovering at a better percentage?
Famously, years ago some hedge fund hired private detectives to lurk outside a clinical trial site. They got license numbers, tracked down who owned the cars, then checked Facebook to see if people posted things like "I'm feeling better, I wonder if the drug is working?"
