Yes, everything is political. Everything is everyt

The MRNA vaccine works 95 percent on the Wuhan strain. Variants MAY affect efficacy, and while it's said effects of infection after completing vaccination are asymptomatic, there's no way to tell if it's really presymptomatic instead except by daily testing. IMO most will ignore getting care due to politics. 1 in 8 Yankees exhibited symptoms. That's 12.5 percent. It can't be ignored if you want to limit Covid. Articles in Nature say we won't reach herd immunity, but that's science. Let's go with what Crunch heard instead.
So who suffers? Anyone presymptomatic and not getting tested, because the next step is symptomatic and that's a crap shoot for your life. How do you know if you're presymptomatic? You don't. Ever bet on a favorite to win and lose? Crapshoot.
The "high risk" group loses. In most cases their immune systems are compromised already and a vaccine may not be as effective in their case.
The unvaccinated also lose. Whatever protection the vaccine gives, which seems to be limiting the severity of the symptoms (so far), they're in a 100 percent crapshoot without the vaccine.
Like I said, Everything's political.
So if you don't like politicians telling you what to do, if you don't believe them, why are you friggin' taking off your mask when they tell you? It's inconvenient. It won't happen to you. It's all about you (not anyone specifically, just the general you). It's just too bad the politics of devisiveness have made us care only about ourselves.
The Biggest Problem with that thinking is this: after a year and a half, Covid hasn't gone away. It's running rampant now in India and their variant, which is said to be more virulent is now in 49 countries, I read in the news. In the US there are 8 states with high numbers of rising cases. One week trending down, another week up. It's just not under control at all. People get complacent and then they lower their guard. This is not the time to get complacent. Why give up when you're almost at the finish line?
