My understanding is that sudden cardiac arrest is often an electrical shorting problem which can cause sudden death, while the CAD is more of a chronic plumbing problem often causing angina and eventual heart failure. Two different scenarios which are totally different and require different approaches. The newest and largest studies have confirmed stents or bypass surgeries are not appropriate treatments to save or extend heart attack victims lives. They can only claim to improve the quality of life for CAD sufferers. Many if not most stenting or bypass procedures are now known to be unnecessary to save or extend life. Any cardiologists care to weigh in?
