Completely agree. A lot of people have simply become numb to the short tactics. I think it mitigates the psychological damage when you have a cost basis under $1. But there are tens of thousands of retail investors who are not in that boat. There are doubtless people got caught in the run-up to $10 and ended up underwater. Maybe their financial situation changed and they had to sell at a significant loss. You can be dispassionate and say "It's an OTC biotech, caveat emptor," but that ignores a very simple fact. And I've said this before: What people like Adam Feuerstein and Joseph J. Spiegel aka BuyerStrike are doing is illegal. It is securities fraud. And it is anything but a victimless crime.
I am a cynical person, but I don't understand the mindset that the illegal manipulation that goes on—which damages both retail investors and the company—should be overlooked.
