Just wondering, why does it take 7 days to get 80%

Patterson paper on montefiore patients shows everybody is up to 80% RO at day 7.
Why does it take so long?
Half-life of LL in blood is weeks if not days, so once the LL gets into the blood it stays there until it binds CCR5.
Is it possible that the kinetics between LL and CCR5 are sufficiently slow that it just take that long to get LL bound to CCR5?
What about the escape of CCL5 from the subcutaneous compartment that it is injected into?
If subcutaneous escape is the rate limiter, they shouldn't they all have been dosed intravenously? LOL just another thing I don't understand
