The latter Day Saints keep excellent Genealogy records which I am thankful that they did and still do. They had spiritual reason why they kept such great records. I like the idea of having two wives could be a double edge sword and they take up keep...yet let me count the ways 
Yes we generally start our lives being brought up in the same religious foundation that our parents seen fit at their age however, my experiences throughout life has taught me (just me personally) that if I am thinking in the child like image now as I did when I was a kid then I must not have ever grown in that structured teaching(s). Going or seeking a God, or Gods understanding or not of my understanding is to be naked in the presence which is hard for so many people to shut down everything around them to reach the level of the creation. Very few people actually I have only ran into 3 that ever understood or experienced B-Line or talking in levels with another person without being high to loosen them up enough to relax and shut down everything around them. The world is far too busy but some Monasteries give access where centering is very possible to set the plain. Much of this can be taken wrong as people are different and experience different things with far too much personal self restraint to let go or even to understand the process of knowledge that they already have but don't know how to tap it.
