'Of course it will'... perhaps long term this is correct, however, in the short and intermediate term I believe there are a couple of reasons testing will still be at the forefront of covid response; 1) to vaccinate the millions of US and world population will be a massive undertaking ( not to mention X 2 for Pfizer vaccine) that will take many months, if not years, to get done 2) because of the rapid deployment of the vaccines- in months and not the typical years- there is virtually no data on long term immunity effects of the vaccines;
So... due to the need for continuous and ongoing surveillance, data acquisition on antibody and antigen response from vaccines, contact tracing, and various other public health measures, I believe rapid, reliable Covid testing will still be a necessary component of a coordinated Covid response for some time ahead
