I guess you are unaware that 2 of the main exports of the Philippines are Doctors and Nurses. (Similar to Cuba.)

personal remittances received by a country are not included in that country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), because they do not represent goods and services produced in that country.
And by the way the Financial Services Industry in San Francisco uses "Philippinos" as the back office workforce, and California has the majority of Filipino-Americans.
