Yes, up battles are messy and expensive to launch, especially if one is destined to lose said battle, hence why, if you emailed herantis today and asked, they would tell you they the had done zero clinical work on MANF since 2017.
I encourage you to review my posts about this subject from 2017 when I discovered the patent and read the actual patent, which were just as alarmist but even better grounded. The fear then, which the article you share slightly refers to, was that all our IP may be wrong/moot because their patent rests on a different sequencing of MANF. It was a clever trick by herantis, but all my research and correspondence since then says it would hold no water if challenged, and again this is key, by us. If we didn't exist, which it was looking like in 2017, that'd be another story.
