There are a dozen or two other conferencing solutions that I know of
Maybe there is more that I don't
Cisco (WebEx), Zoom, Microsoft (Skype and Teams) and Google (Hangout now called Meet) are the big players
Remember for a long time, it was only WebEx and Skype
Back in the day, we would spend at least 5 minutes if not 10 on every call with people having issues. It's a tough business. The issues are not on the providers end.
What do they call it?
User error...
Except the user doesn't know, doesn't think so
Company I am consulting for is switching from Skype to Teams. Spent the first 10 minutes of a call yesterday with people trying to find buttons.
Used to take me a few seconds to get into Skype. Takes me two minutes to get into Teams
Ah, what's two minutes you say?
Except if your last call runs over a few minutes, now you are 5 minutes late to your next call
And now people are scared
Waiting rooms...
Identify and then let people in
All well in good except the person letting them in...
Is the person running the meeting
Once they start presenting, they are on a roll
So when you come in 5 minutes late to a meeting
It's like coming in 5 minutes late to a play, a performance
Sorry sir, we can't let you in...
