Seems to me that QMC is expanding its ability to market at low risk and cost. it's bringing on new extremely capable people to run the operations of different divisions. Steve Squires can't do it all himself. QMC is moving into new areas. which need skilled salespeople with contacts, working full-time in their area of expertise. Just the anticounterfeiting market of DLT is worth multiple hundreds of millions of dollars. HealthID is just one DApp they are creating an entire industry around. Jay Williams said they are working on multiple projects, each of which could be a separate profit center with new hires or licensees. These people have the right to license QMC Technologies and the ability to gain the value of their work in compensation. It's bold and innovative and allows Squires to move into new QD applications. What's next? QDLED, SSL? Hundreds of billions of light bulbs are sold each year. QDLED are used in light bulbs. Who gets that license? Do you notice QMC is licensing for the purpose of having multiple sublicensees in order to maintain control and value? That's great, but it's also a hell of a lot of work to implement. SSL alone could have separate retail to stores, commercial, and industrial businesses. It's huge.
QMC seems to be setting up wholly owned business divisions such as DLT blockchain and anticounterfeiting Technologies, with one DApp example being QDX HealthID, and licensing QMVT to market it. QMC did the same with Amtronics, who is licensee of QMC overseas for India IMO.
Squires in the AMTRON contract protected QMC IP and even IP that might be developed under the contract! We've seen QMC win in court. There is no reason to think QMC gave anything away in the QMVT deal.
QMC has chosen license and royalties because there is no large upfront cost relative to the size of the project - the partner pays for everything, and QMC shares in the profits by way of royalties.
Investors just gave QMC $2 million for the right to market QMC Vertical Technologies. Can any small business get a loan today? Money is so tight businesses are falling left and right.
EDIT ADD: If QMVT gave the $2 M as a license fee, that means they must have pretty big pockets because they also would have signed up to pay for everything to market QMC technologies.
It's the latest genius move for Squires to free himself to work on new industries.
