Some folks don't want to be forced into the public eye as some sort of celebrity in order to try and capitalize on something like that. No doubt though, going into the MJ business at this point in time would probably prove lucrative if they went that route, but there are always hacks that would challenge them for lack of proof even though they definitely have it, claiming of course that it was somehow faked. So often how it goes once $$$$ comes into the picture.
If it were me personally, I would go with a private family life verses the fame and potential fortune that could come with it. Just my personal preference. Of course as we move toward national legality, and they're presumably retired, we could possibly see more first hand details about this story. Priorities change, and people often open up about things they've remained quiet about as they get older.
